Although Heidi Greco writes in many genres, poetry remains her first love, and the list of her publications reflects that. She enjoys foraging, whether for mushrooms and berries or for a new line of poetry. She also likes the tradition of making big Sunday suppers and having her adult sons over to share these. A longtime resident of Surrey, British Columbia, Heidi and her partner live in a house that’s mostly surrounded by trees. In 2017, she was honoured by the City of Surrey by being officially proclaimed as one of their Civic Treasures.
I enjoy leading workshops on a variety of topics. Most frequently, I’m asked to do sessions on ekphrastic writing (using art as inspiration), but also offer ones on editing and on writing various kinds of poetry. Because I also enjoy fiddling around with crafty delights, I like offering workshops that help people produce special chapbooks of their own.
